Breast Implants

Breast implants, also known as an augmentation mammoplasty or boob job, consists of using implants specialized for this operation or fat transfer to improve the shape, size, and form of a patient’s breasts.
Types of breast implants
The most common types of breast implants used in this procedure are:
Saline implants: Provide a firm, uniform shape and feel. Some of these are filled before the operation and some others during the procedure.
Silicone implants: Provide a more natural feel but still provide a firm, uniform shape and look.
Choosing any of these implants is a matter of preference. Some patients prefer saline implants over silicone ones and vice versa.
Breast implants: step-by-step:
First of all, your doctor will make a medical evaluation. He/she will ask you about your expectations, your medical history, which medicines are the ones that you take, and what can be done to achieve those expectations.
The incision that your surgeon makes will depend on the type of implant you want to get, how large the enlargement will be, and on your body. The surgeon will close the incisions once the implant has been put into place.
Recovery:
Your chest/breasts will be covered up with gauze for safety and protection after the surgery; you might need to use drainage tubes for a few days. Your doctor will let you know how to take care of your breasts correctly to prevent any problems or complications.
This is an outpatient procedure, which means that you’ll be able to go home within the same day that you showed up at the doctor’s office. However, you might be asked to stay in a supervision room just to discard the apparition of any issues or complications.
You might experience some swelling, redness, and perhaps a little discomfort, but those things
will disappear with time. However, you should refrain from doing any heavy physical activity for 6-8 weeks after getting your implants.
